THE club's recent slideshow night at the Crow's Nest raised an amazing £88.50 for charity.
Of this, £78.50 is going to Comic Relief, while the remaining tenner, which was raised through sales of Steve's cinnamon-chocolate flapjack, is going to the Edale Mountain Rescue Team.
Thanks to the regulars of the Crow's, who were set upon unawares by a crowd of bizarrely-dressed mountaineers.
The night also saw some awards handed out: Joanne Brogden won 'most improved climber' (and was also given some shinpads following a painfully frustrating time on a Peak grit route); and young star Ruby Tuplin was awarded her very first chalk bag and a trophy for 'best young climber'.
The slideshow element included a collection of pictures from various venues, including the Peak and Font (particular favourites included photos of 'Tom Buckaroo'), as well as some inspiring photography from Pete's recent expedition up Ama Dablam.
Photos from the night, and some from the slideshow, will be posted on the site soon. Thanks again to all who made the event a successful and fun evening!
