Club in talks with Wintringham over climbing venue

Preparations being made to remove wall from Lindsey

THE club is in very encouraging talks with Wintringham Academy over the possibility of creating a climbing wall in one of its sports halls.

The details have yet to be sorted out, but Steve and Pete had an extremely positive meeting with Wintringham this week - and, unlike Tollbar Edge, they are excited about the prospect of adding climbing to the many sports it provides its students.

More details will be posted as things progress.

In the meantime, preparations are being made to remove the club's fixings from Lindsey School. It is looking likely that the last Lindsey Wall session will be on Thursday July 15, with the wall being taken down on the following Saturday (17th). The club will need quite a few pairs of helping hands, so let Pete or Steve know if you are available and feeling fit.

Incidentally, Tollbar Edge still haven't scraped together enough courtesy to reply to our previous letters requesting a meeting. But the club isn't the only victim of Tollbar's controversial approach to community inclusion. The Cleethorpes Chronicle reported on June 17 that dozens of youth soccer teams face the boot because their league games will no longer be permitted at Lindsey. They've been using the school fields for more than 10 years.
