A CONSULTATION on the local council's sporting ambitions for the next few years has confirmed what we all knew anyway - that the council doesn't plan on building a local climbing wall.
Steve K went along to a meeting on May 11 to represent the views of frustrated climbers, and the bottom line is that there's good news if you're into swimming, because a new pool is on the cards.
But at least us facility-less climbers won't be alone forever, because Grimsby's tired but beloved ice skating rink is set to be demolished, and there won't be a replacement.
Anyone willing to drop off at SheffieldIce on the way to Stanage, therefore, should get in touch with the snubbed skaters. If you want to find them, they'll be hanging round the boating lake waiting for a frost.
